UPDATE: May 5, 2020

Dear Optics Patients and Friends,

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has endured challenging times over the last few weeks, and all of us are looking forward to cautiously returning to daily routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to you and your safety.

As the Governor’s office is issuing more guidance to relax restrictions around healthcare facilities, we are proud to start reopening our practice with enhanced measures to protect your health and the health of those around you. Our target date to reopen for providing comprehensive routine eye care is May 11, 2020.

Although we are in the beginning and very promising stages of re-opening our practice, we do want to reiterate that our staff will continue to strictly follow and exceed all governmental directives, as well as take extra precautions to help keep both our patients and staff safe. Our office will follow infection control recommendations made by the American Optometric Association (AOA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

With our patient’s safety in mind, you will see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made the following changes (among many others) to help protect our patients and staff.

 * Our office will communicate with you before your appointment to ask some screening questions.

 * All patients will be temperature screened prior to entering the office.

 * All patients and staff will be required to wear a face mask.

 * Appointments are limited to the patient only; unless assistance is required, or the patient is a minor. At that time 1 additional visitor is accepted.

 * We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other areas in the office for you to use as needed.

 * Frequent sanitization of common areas especially optical and exam rooms.

 * Please contact our office upon arrival and comfortably wait in your car until we are able to bring you into the office and immediately place you in the pretesting room or seated at a designated place in the optical.

 * Appointments will be required for all services including eye exams, eyewear selection, dispensing, repairs, and adjustments which will be scheduled to reduce waiting times and to allow for social distancing between patients.

 * We will be utilizing an advanced state of the art UVC disinfection protocol of all frames.

Please also make sure you are monitoring your health for flu-like symptoms. If you are experiencing cough, fever and shortness of breath, please call to reschedule your appointment.

We are so grateful to once again be able to provide in-person care to our Optics family, and we can’t wait to see you. We will be contacting all patients who had to postpone their appointment to get things back on track. Please be patient with us during this time and we promise to do our best to catch up as quickly as possible. We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we will take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice.

We will continue to communicate with you as more updates become available.  Thank you for being our patient.  We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming you back.
